How do glial cells develop and shape the nervous system?

The Heo Lab studies the molecular mechanisms that regulate glial cell development through comprehensive genetic screens in fruit flies and zebrafish. Our long-term goal is to further elucidate how glial cell dysfunction contributes to neurodevelopmental disorders. We will be opening at the University of Notre Dame in July 2027!
